No. GeoWave records a location every 3 minutes, and only while the employee is checked in. It's tuned for the aggressive battery savers on Xiaomi, Vivo and other Indian Android phones, and onboarding includes setting each device up correctly. If a phone stops reporting, has notifications off or runs low on battery, phone health shows it to the manager the same day.
Location points are stored on the phone, up to a full day's worth, and uploaded automatically the moment the connection returns. You never lose the trail; it simply arrives a little later.
This is exactly what selfie + GPS check-in is built against. Every check-in pairs a selfie with the GPS location and time captured at that moment, so one person can't quietly punch in for two. Where you need more, the optional face check matches each check-in selfie to the person's enrolled face and sends mismatches to a manager to review. GeoWave tracks only between check-in and check-out — the working shift they're being paid for. Off shift, tracking is off. Before their first check-in the app explains exactly what is recorded and who can see it, and records that they read it; while tracking is on, a notification on the phone says so. Face check is used only with the employee's consent, which they can withdraw at any time.
